Start of 3rd year photography project.

My approach is reinterpreting old photographs of people, showing a progression of a personality throughout their history. To show similarities of someone now and how they appeared when they were younger. Expressions is the most important part in this project, they can have the option to dress up if they want but it’s all about facial expressions. So I ask my sitters to choose a self portrait that is the most memorable moment of their time, that best represents their thoughts and feelings at the time and shows who they feel they are today. The setting is simple, outside with a plain black backdrop.

Anonymous asked: Araminta. Alan McLean from the yesterday question re which half of your heritage Australian. I originally included my email but kept getting no links allowed when hit Ask button. Yours my 1st networking type of site so unsure of protocols. Just want to say I really appreciate/like your artistic talent & choices. Very Best Wishes to you. Regards. Alan from cold Melbourne.

Hi Alan, i am too from Melbourne. Thank you, much appreciated! I’m glad you enjoy viewing my work. Best wishes, Araminta

In the middle of deciding a new layout, currently bored with the one i have, need something that doesn’t take over my work, quite simple, i want my images to be larger than they are now. One or two columns down or across.. Quite professional looking and of course free.

So hard deciding a new layout :(

Anonymous asked: i also am a firm believer in the "no-photoshop" way of photography. i used to run a studio for citybeach professionally, but i now shoot pictures for a graffiti magazine called "dirty deeds". if you are interested in seeing any of my work you should flollow me, as i will be uploading some of my flicks over the coming days... and you will have the "honour" of becoming my first follower. as i haven't told anyone i made a tumblr.

Oh cool, that sounds really fascinating! I would like to see your work but unfortunately your anonymous, therefore i can’t :/

probsnotcoolhey asked: i like the way your photos appear natural.... and by that i mean "un-photoshopped" they have a good "straight off the camera" look to them.

Most of my work is un-photoshopped, unless i want to experiment - i’ll use photoshop but most of the time it’s natural. Really appreciate your comment, thank you.
